Funda is a South African technology brand offered by Stylco Empowerment. The brand imports and assembles educational mobile tablets for students. The brand is primarily targeting parents who would purchase the product for their youngsters. Subsequently, its secondary target market is three-fold: primary scholars, high-school learners, and university students.
When Stylco needed to stand-out from the clutter on a crowded competitive retail shelf, they looked to Petaltheory® for a creative solution. They sent us a redesign and product-development brief to revamp the Funda logo and transform the Funda packaging. They expected something that would invite the consumer to the brand, but they did not anticipate for a market expansion.
Immediately after receiving the brief, we formulated a creative strategy and went to the drawing board to design artwork that can retain simplicity but still turn heads. We made use of bright metallic colour palettes to help the brand stand out from the rest of the competition. The magic worked.
A few months after the new Funda packaging was launched in retail. The products soared in sales and increased its market share in the educational sector.
